h8300-elf assembler mov.l broken on h and s

In h8300s and h8300h modes the assembler no longer accepts the valid assembly 

        mov.l er6,@-er7
and
        mov.l er7,er6

and probably others.
This is in h8300-elf-as version 2.14.90 20030618 from the CVS

Suspicuously it works for .h8300sx!
