Just for the record, the gawk maintainer disagrees, violently, that
POSIX requires support for hexadecimal constants.
I too have expressed my opinion on this matter, and it disagrees with Paul's.
As I'm sure what I've said can be found in the mailing list archives, I
am not going to reopen the discussion.
