Please note that modifying the .pot file in the last minute before
making a release (i.e. without sending the .pot file again to the
translation project) is likely to make translators to be upset,
because even if they had the ability to update the translation in
five seconds, they didn't have the opportunity of doing so.

I can't speak for him, but I think it's reasonable to say that the
current .pot file is in either case closer to the .pot file for the
next release, whenever such thing will happen.

If the TP scripts allow replacing an already existing .pot by another
more recent one having the same version number, I would do it. At least
this would allow distribution makers to update the translations in
their packages by using the translations from the TP, as they would
match the real .pot file.

If the TP scripts do not allow such thing, well, I think it would be a nice
feature to have.
