Yes, but no!

Things seems to work fine except that it doesn't show scandinavian
characters like øæå and ØÆÅ. A word that contains any of these characters
won't be displayed at all.

My theory of what's wrong:
The version of msgfmt I got does not generate a proper da.gmo file. Of
course I can test this by trying a da.gmo file from my Linux computer
to my Windows system, and see if that works, but I have not tried this

There are also some LC_LOCALE files for gtk+. When I just do the following:

set LANG=da_DK

at the DOS-prompt, the file selection dialogs comes in Danish with all
characters, but the menu of gnubg comes with Danish _without_ scandinavian
characters. This is why I think the gnubg.mo file is corrupt!

First of all, he can start bu downloading the gtk-1.3-20020310 runtime
from Tor's site. This archive contains .mo files for gtk.

I think the .mo files are compatible. So, yes, this might be the simplest.

I have all my .mo files in a catalog called c:/mingw/lib/LC_LOCALE/da/
but I'm not sure how to specify the path to these files. I'll check that

If he wants to generate his own .mo files he should get gettext for windows.
Since I suspect that my version makes corrupt .mo files, I can't recommend
any specific build.
