That worked! There was one hitch when make reached the
doc directory:
cd . \
&& makeinfo `echo gnubg.texi | sed 's,.*/,,'`
Making info file `gnubg.info' from `gnubg.texi'.
gnubg.texi:49: No matching address@hidden ifnottex'.
gnubg.texi:76: Unmatched address@hidden'.
gnubg.texi:116: Unknown command `env'.
gnubg.texi:116: Misplaced {.
gnubg.texi:116: Misplaced }.
...
lot's of these until it gives up.
When I start make for a second try it skips doc and compiles the
package.
(oh and autoheader gave a warning about using auxiliary files )
