Hi !
First of all.. best wishes for 2003!

I can modify the logo with a different board.
Also i can create a version without the board inside the characters for smaller
icons and stuff.
I am currently hosting a fibs/backgammon forum in which i started a topic on
the gnubg logo.
Registered (free) members can upload their logo's there.
When several logo's are submitted (i think cyan also has created some logo's) i
can start a poll so users can vote on the logo.

You can see the topic on http://www.sprint.nl/fibs/index.php?act=ST&f=9&t=27
Maybe if you put a link on the gnubg websites, we will get more
logo-submissions.
(currently there is only one.. my own)

If you want i can create a seperate forum inside the fibs board for gnubg only.
It has lots of features and i can make some of you moderator on that particular
part of the forum.
I can even implement the chosen logo onto the layout of that particular forum.

Tell me what you think of these ideas.
If you think it's ok i will ask cyan to put up her logo's there too.

Hope to hear from you soon.
Regards,
Eric Nijman

Hi, again!

Again thanks for the nice logo, and again sorry the late reply. To get
faster replys and to involve the other developer, I suggest that you use
address@hidden

There hasn't been many postings to the mailing list regarding your logo
suggestion, except for this one my project manager Gary:

Yes, I think that one's appealing. (It just needs updating to flatter
chequers and a wooden board :-) It looks too detailed to work as an
icon, but I think it would be a good splash screen.

Should we have any sort of scheme for deciding which images to use, or
is that more effort than it's worth? We could leave things as they
are, hold a vote on everybody's favourites, create a single terrifying
polyglot of every logo that's ever been suggested, or everybody with
CVS write access could continually commit their preferences until
we're too tired to fight any more...

Cheers,
Gary.

I can also point you to a mail by Gary when we recieved some other logo
suggestions a month:

http://mail.gnu.org/pipermail/bug-gnubg/2002-December/001843.html

That mail should give you some information.

So,
To the developers: What should we do? Gary has already listed some of our
options, in the above post. What I suggest is that we annaouce a logo
competition at www.gnubg.org. Make some simple rules for the competition.
"All suggestions must be mailed to address@hidden by the end of
February 2003". Then we simply vote!

Hi,
No problem.
I was beginning to think the mail never got to you.
Tell me if you want more artwork or if you want things changed in the logo
i send you.

I have also started a topic on my fibs forum. Maybe some other people will
put some effort in it and will put it online.
The forum is at http://www.sprint.nl/fibs

Regards,
Eric Nijman (webrunner on fibs)

Hi,

Sorry the delay. I've been on a vacation. I think the logo looks realy
cool!! I've forwarded this to the mailing list so the other developers can
see this.
