Unfortunately it's not that simple...

Put very simple: the noise option add some "random" amount to the
outputs of the evaluation. 

If the noise options is, say, 0.1, gnubg will add between -0.1 and 0.1
to the wins, between -0.025 and +0.025 to gammons, and between -0.01 and
+0.01 to the backgammons, so the cubeless equity will have noise between
-0.135 and +0.135 (for non-jacoby money game).

The precise amount is calculated by some non-trivial algorithms.

gnubg will add the noise to all the equities calculated, and
subsequently choose a different move if the equities change
sufficiently.
