My version of gnubg runs beautifully on Panther -- but this is not the 
version that is available for download yet.

I am currently trying to find some time to package a new up-to-date 
version of gnubg (with 3d boards) and upload it for download by Mac OS 
X users, but as you may know, I'm currently living in Mauritania with 
very poor Internet access, and I am trying to use the last few days of 
my stay in France to do this ; I'll try and do this by Friday (I'm 
leaving on Saturday, till New Year's Eve)

BTW, Jon, the offscreen buffer issue with 3d boards has disappeared 
with the new version of X11 included with Mac OS 10.3 Panther :-)

Nope, no Cocoa version is available -- it would require a full 
rewriting of the graphical user interface, or some GTK-to-Cocoa/Aqua 
conversion layer, which I haven't heard of...
