It is possible to step through the match while it is analyzing.

How to do it (Old GUI):

1) Make sure game window and annotation window are open
2) Import match
3) Analyze match
4) While match is being analyzed, make the Main GNUBG window the active
window  (click on the window somewhere to make sure it is in front)
5) You can navigate through the match by using "ctrl+ PageUp / ctrl+
PageDown" to switch between games of the match, and by using "PageUp /
PageDown" to scroll through the moves in a given game.

Of course you will need to wait until GNUBG is finished analyzing to have
access to the summary statistics.
