Unfortunately, any analysis is only saved in a _match_ .sgf file. A
position .sgf doesn't contain any ply analysis nor rollout data.

Why is it the case? Is the presumably necessary move struct not
present when dealing only with positions? But then it neither works
when I load a match, analyse or roll out a position and then save it
as a position.

As far as I can see the current situation makes saving positions
hardly useful. The only additional information over pos and match ids
is the match information (player names, date and match comment) in the
sgf game header.

For a position database this feature is indispensable. Btw, what were
the plans on how to store analysis in the pos db on gnubg.org?

After a while... I've found a workaround for saving the analysis of a
set up position:
- start a match
- set the pos up
- make any move or double (else one can't analyse it, but only get a
hint)
- go back to the set up pos in game record
- analyse it or do a rollout
- save as game or match/session

But this obviously doesn't work if the position is part of a match. Or
at least it requires first saving that pos and reloading it. Else the
entire match would be written to the .sgf which is not wanted here.

But only to match .sgfs.
