We may wish to revisit it. I did a preliminary build without 3dboards (I
don't have a proper environment yet to do the 3d stuff with gtk2 yet)
and didn't experience any noticable slow down on the MET table.And I
knwo the apprearances/settings table came up as fast as usual.
I'll do some other tests when I can rebuild it again. But I think some
of these issues are not an issue. I was using Gtk+2.3.
It is not perfect however. I did notice that if I entered the
Appearances screen and then came out that a few seconds later it would
hang. If I didn't enter those screens I was able to play a match with no
real problems
