After some time I tried to compile again:

I have the latest libxml2 available installed: libxml2-2.4.12. Something
I'm missing?

Another question: Which bison and m4 do you use on Windows? The bison from
MinGW doesn't find m4 (seems to be hardcoded to look only at C:\MSys\..)
and the one from gnuwin32 needs libintl3.dll which I only find in a cygwin
version.
