Hello,I've just downloaded and installed the latest version of GNU Backgammon and it fails to start. (gnubg-setup-gtk13-20050213.exe)
I get 2 windows:The first has a window title saying 'Starting GNU Backgammon 0.14.3-devel'. It displays an image of a brown GNU and at the bottom it says 'initialising' followed by 'board images'.
The second window has a window title saying 'GNU Backgammon - Error'.The error reported is 'BAMFORD/USR:AQ\Ad1pms/.gnubg:' followed by 'Invalid argument'. There is only an 'OK' button to press and when I do the program terminates.
The 'BAMFORD/USR:AQ\Ad1pms' bit of the error relates to the Novell server and user name I have on have on the server. I'm using Microsoft XP Professional Version 2002 with Service pack 2. Hardware is a Viglen Contender machine.
If you need any other information let me know.I have installed the same program on a windows 2000 platform and did not experience any problems and I'd just like to say thanks for all your hard work in putting together what looks like a great piece of software.
warm regards Pete
