I;d be glad to see it go. I would like to be slow in using features
that are gtk2.6 vs. 2.4 specific, as I have already learned the hard
way that under some Unices (FreeBSD for example), interesting things
happen when you have a version of gtk which is advanced past the one
assumed by the package management system (it caused some mega grief)
