I've added this, quite tricky to time multiple threads at the same
time...  Anyway here I get using 1 thread multi-threaded is about 1%
slower than building single-threaded and using 2 threads is about 97%
faster than building single-threaded.

I'm not sure how valid the test is as my previous results give about a
90% gain in real examples.
