I used Gentoo from 2003 - 2005 and was quite satisfied with it at that
time. Then my mainboard crashed and I went to a different architecture.
I had to setup a new system quickly and chose SuSE-9.X.

On a notebook I used kubuntu for a while until I was faced with some
weird kernel driver problems regarding my pcmcia wlan card.

I haven't followed the progresses of Gentoo, is it possible to install a
precompiled current version now? A new system from scratch will last
around one week (I guestimate).

Ciao

Achim
