Which MacOS do you have? The newest one is 10.5.

I hope so. I just bought a brandnew Macbook Pro. Soon after the phase of
me sitting amazed in front of it will end, I'll start building packages
for MacOS 10.5 also.

X11 is installed on your system then, you won't need the package from
gnubg.org. But I wonder where you got the packages from. The download
links at http://www.gnubg.org/index.php?itemid=23#install3d don't work
anymore.
