As of 1.05.000 and higher the executable no longer runs on XP. This is
because on of the components we use restricts us to newer OSes (Vista
and higher). I probably should make this clearer on the webpage and I
should offer up a solution for older OSes.
What you can do is use the older version which can be downloaded here:
http://files.gnubg.org/media/windows/gnubg-1_04_001-20141204-setup.exe
If you use 1.04.001 you should not use random.org for dice generation
since that feature is now broken in anything before 1.05.000.
