This is not a problem. We have this mailing list precisely so that we can
make incompatible changes to any module at any moment.

Also the number of uses is irrelevant. Recently I had to add an argument
'ignore_sigpipe' to wait_subprocess() and execute(). 15 callers changed. So
what?
