I do, but removing it makes no difference, here.
What I put there is pretty basic, after all:
[user]
email = address@hidden
name = Jim Meyering
I ran the following commands (note esp the "sh -x"):
(git clone git://cvs.sv.gnu.org/coreutils.git cu && cd cu \
&& sh -x ./bootstrap ) 2>&1 | bzip2 -9 > makerr.bz2
and put the result in http://meyering.net/tmp/makerr.bz2
What do you get from the same commands?
Comparing the differences in the sh -x output should
help us get to the bottom of this.
