Ah, but we _did_ import it into gnulib. See the regexprops-generic
module, which installs the file regexprops-generic.texi for inclusion
within a manual.
Ok, I deserve the dunce cap for missing regexprops-generic :)
I imported the module and used the contents of the "posix-extended
regular expression syntax" subsection (that also covers the GNU
extensions).
