One of the recent patches for NSMenu and family must have broken the
functionality of tear off menus. It is not that I like them that
much, but we should not loose them that easily. How to test this
yourself.

1) Open Ink.app
2) Select one sub menu and tear it off.
3) Select "New Document" form the file menu.
4) As soon as the new window apears the tear off menu will vanish.

Hm, I can not reproduce this with the current CVS version.

Looks like this is a windows manager specific problem. I am using KDE 3 and have been doing so for quit some time. As this problem only did show up in the last weeks it is still caused by an recent change. What window manager are you ans Serg using? Could you try KDE?

I also notice very strange behaviour when moving a teared off menu window around to fast. It just starts to jump around. Sorry, that it looks like I am only critisising the recent changes it is just that I don't mention the things I like about them.

Cheers Fred
