Follow-up Comment #2, bug #23776 (project gnustep):

Could you please check which back versions those two release shipped with?
That way we can try to find out what changes in back that could result in
these differnces. As it works fine for XP it is most likely that we now use
some more advanced Windows function that is not precent in Win2000.

Is it possible to get a back trace from the crash? That would help to find
out whether that is related to any of the other listed issues.

Does thsi also happen when recompiling GNUstep from scratch on a Win2000
machine?

The only code change that I could find that could result in the black
background was the one from 2008-02-14.
