Follow-up Comment #2:

1. I fixed the documentation to give the correct '-a' flag to open an
application.
2. I fixed gopen to print the same error message as OSX when given a
non-existent file name.
3. I changed NSAlert() to write the alert information as an NSLog() if it is
called from a non-gui application ... avoids the ugly exception.
