I haven't compiled GNUstep on Cygwin in may years, so my help might be off a bit. From your logs I would say that this is an internal issue of Cygwin. Some of the types used in socket.h aren't defined. What you could do is try to find out, why this is the case. It could be that some define in GNUstep prevents them from being visible or that an additional include is needed. Just grep for one of these types, for example uid_t in all Cygwin headers and try to figure out why it isn't used.

Apart from that I would suggest you switch to MinGW, which is a lot better tested with GNUstep nowerdays.
