Hi again Dave (in yet another forum :),
lol yes, "stop following me" ;-)
Until then, should the 'get more extensions' link be
removed as a bug?
My thought would be to make it to go addons.gnuzilla.org, even that is
just an empty page -- or a page listing customizegoogle.com.
Perhaps listing useful extensions that are flush with the improved
privacy aims of gnuzilla would be useful. However...

AFAIK mozilla extensions are Free, are you sure they are

Almost all do seem to be GPL/MPL, but the search facilities on
addons.mozilla.org dont allow searching by license so I'm not sure
what the ratios are.
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/3262/ "is licensed under a
non-commercial free-to-use license, which can be viewed at:
http://www.dejaclick.com/LICENSE-AGREEMENT.htm"
There are also some that are for proprietary desktop software -
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/627/ though windows only, heh
And many that are for proprietary web apps - many of which are
featured on the front page of addons.mozilla.org - though I'm not
clear on the FSF stance to proprietary webapp
