Great, thanks for the tip.  Just to clairify how do I
specify the appdir?  
--with-user-appdir=./iceweasel 
so it would be in /Iceweasel-root/iceweasel? 

Should I be concerned with:
--with-default-mozilla-five-home



How about compiling statically?  Have you tried?
Maybe:
./configure --enable-static --disable-shared 

How about other useful compile commands, is there a
list of what's enabled by default?

I was thinking about:
--enable-crypto
--enable-optimize
etc
