yes - well;

your suggestion includes using of debian package manager which i do not have 
and am not willing to install ( or any other package manager for that matter ). 
i do not install binary packages and thus have no need for software that makes 
it difficult to know what is happening in my machine.

i'll take a closer look on this if i just find the motivation ( i have working 
icecat 3.6.16 )...

i just hoped someone would have cooked up patches in the usual and correct way
