The same for me (more, I usually keep javascript disabled also on some other
higher resource systems I have/use...).

Javascript-based websites/webpages are really ugly to me.

A "old" idea: using regular links (anchors) which "dinamically" reload the page
(i.e. to show notices and/or other info) should be fast enough for a page with
mainly a text content (with no or few graphics)...
