Please provide a testcase for your bug, I'm not sure whether I understand it. "fgrep" sets matcher to "fgrep" thanks to the "if" statement below:

  if (!m)
      compile = matchers[0].compile;
      execute = matchers[0].execute;
      if (!matchers[1].name)
        matcher = matchers[0].name;
