        Yes, it seems that some other lib is needing alloca.
        If I find the time I will try to hunt it down.
        The usual suspect is libfl.a (flex)

        Thats a known problem on HPUX with alloca. They (HP) even managed at 
some time that you needed to do a -lPW -lc (linking the C-Lib. explicitely) to 
get alloca to link.
