encoding for PostScript output

From: Klaus Straubinger
Subject: encoding for PostScript output
Date: Mon, 6 Dec 2004 09:33:38 +0100 (CET)

GROFF VERSION: GNU groff version 1.18.1.1
MACHINE: HP d530 (Intel Pentium 4)
OS: Fedora Core 3 (Linux)

DESCRIPTION OF INCORRECT BEHAVIOUR: Requesting PostScript output for a
file with input characters « (guillemotleft) or » (guillemotright)
leads to a mapping of these characters to the wrong output characters.

According to the Adobe standard encoding
<http://partners.adobe.com/public/developer/opentype/index_std_enc.html>,
one would expect characters 171 or 187, respectively, but instead one
gets, as is to be expected from the file devps/text.enc, the characters
129 and 130, respectively. The definitions for \[Fo] and \[Fc] lead to
the correct output, however.

SUGGESTED FIX [optional]: Implement Adobe standard encoding in text.enc.
