[bug #66387] [troff] the hyphenation language is global; should be a pro

From: G. Branden Robinson
Subject: [bug #66387] [troff] the hyphenation language is global; should be a property of the environment
Date: Thu, 31 Oct 2024 05:01:23 -0400 (EDT)

Update of bug #66387 (group groff):

                Severity:                1 - Wish => 3 - Normal
              Item Group: Feature change => Incorrect behaviour

Follow-up Comment #4:

Here is, perhaps, a more convincing demonstration of weirdness. I think this
is enough to reclassify the ticket as "incorrection behavior" from "feature
change".

$ cat EXPERIMENTS/buggy-hla.groff
.tm \n[.hla]
.ev spanish
.mso es.tmac
.tm .hla=\n[.hla], .hy=\n[.hy]
.ev
.tm .hla=\n[.hla], .hy=\n[.hy]
$ groff EXPERIMENTS/buggy-hla.groff
en
.hla=es, .hy=1
.hla=es, .hy=4

Pretty weird to pop the environment stack and have the hyphenation mode, but
not the hyphenation _language_, change.
