You can use the new version of `mkbimage' to be found here:
http://corpus.polynum.org/admin/mkbimage
which does everything (creating a virtual disk bootable by the GRUB).
This new version (1.8) seems to work correctly... on other machines too
(two success stories ;) that is a bunch of beta test...).
