You can run the "grub-install /dev/hda" to restore it. You can also boot
the grub from a grub floppy, possibly press "c" to get to the commandline
and type "setup (hd0) (hd0,0)" where (hd0,0) means /dev/hda1. There the
"setup" command looks for directory /boot/grub or /grub containing the
grub's files.
