[grub #34] hang at apm :intel desktop motherboard D850GB latest bios

I installed latest bios on my intel desktop motherboard D850GB. I have a 61GB 
Hdrive. fresh redhat 7.3 install. grub .91-4 rpm

Grub will only boot default linux boot if I dont "enter" with grub. If i hit 
"enter" while booting (even on default boot)  then grub "hangs" at the line of 
the bootup

apm:bios version 1.2 flags 0x03 (drive version 1.16) line of the boot.

So i read the faq (maybe its the hard drive size) and I flashed my bios to 
latest 0078.p18 version. no help.
what is recommended? thanks. i cant do a dual boot! (debian/win/etc/)
help please.
