Hello,
I have a system set up with 2 operating systems: window$ XP and RedHat Linux 8.0.
I generally don't shutdown my computer often but lately when i do and come back the next day i get the error message 'GRUB: hard disk error'
it seems that it is happening more since I installed the latest Redhat Errata: kernel 2.4.18-24.8.0
I have a 40GB Maxtor Hard drive which is only about a year old (at the most)
the system does come back after i press the 'restart' button several times.
is there a work around or a way to make grub less sensative to this error?
or am i looking at a hardware problem?
thanks in advance for any help you can provide
sincerely,
Henry Eaton
