GRUB has dessign flaws and won't be ported to non-i386. This is why Okuji
started PUPA, a research project for the next generation of GNU GRUB:

  http://www.nongnu.org/pupa/

If you want a multiboot loader for the ppc, you should port PUPA instead.

Btw, PUPA doesn't support multiboot yet, but Marco Gerards is working on that.
