Hello,
I have installed Gentoo 1.4 and am trying to use grub as the boot loader.
I have my root file system (/dev/sda3) set up as reiserfs.
my grub commands are as follows:
root (hd0,0)
kernel (hd0,0)/boot/bzImage root=/dev/sda3
initrd (hd0,0)/boot/initrd-2.4.20-gentoo-r8
boot
The boot process hangs with these messages:
VFS: cannot open root device "sda3" or 08:03
Please append a correct "root=" boot option
kernel panic VFS:unable to mount rootfs on 08:03
I have searched the online grub manual and cannot find a fix to this.
What boot option(s) do I need?
