I think the supported way to do that is to install win95 first. But it
is possible to do it other way round.

1. Backup your data.

2. Save your MBR to a floppy.

3. If C: is FAT (or any fs readable by win95):
   note down the current value of partition id;
   change the partition id to Linux (so that win95 doesn't try to read
   it).

4. Recheck that you can't read C: from win95's DOS. Install win95 on D:.
   It will overwrite the MBR.

5. If you've done step 3, restore the partition id of C: back.

6. Install grub / lilo / whatever (don't know whether grub needs to or
   does support FAT).

I prefer using Knoppix for steps 2, 3, 5 and 6.

Be sure that you understand what is going to happen at each step. It is
very easy to destroy everything. I hope I haven't forgotten anything,
but still I disclaim all responsibility.
