I think this has been fixed. Which version of GRUB are you using? Could you try the current version in the CVS?
0.94 from Debian unstable.
I suppose I can try recompiling it from CVS...
The savannah 'grub' project referenced on the web page has different instructions than the web page itself. Kind of confusing...
In any case it did not work, same error as before in strace. Thanks, Dave
