If you boot from a grub cdrom such as Super Grub Disk you can type:
root (cd)
chainloader +1
boot
because I think that with rootnoverify it doesn't work.

If you find it annoying to boot from a cdrom to boot another one (:)) you 
may try this other option which uses other non-grub programs alonside grub:
