  Hi!
I would like to understand this error message showed below.
I'm trying to recover my GRUB boot load through the grub-install command.

----begin----
address@hidden:/sbin$ sudo grub-install --root-directory=/media/disk /dev/hda3 Due to a bug in xfs_freeze, the following command might produce a segmentation fault when /media/disk/boot/grub is not in an XFS filesystem. This error is harmless and
can be ignored.
xfs_freeze: specified file ["/media/disk/boot/grub"] is not on an XFS filesystem
Installation finished. No error reported.
This is the contents of the device map /media/disk/boot/grub/device.map.
Check if this is correct or not. If any of the lines is incorrect,
fix it and re-run the script `grub-install'.

(hd0) /dev/hda
---end---

My partition / is ext3 and the device is /dev/hda3.
  Thank you for attention.
  Best regards,

I do not know a lot about this but I will bet that there's no error here.

Your grub is not covered? Are you sure that the /media/disk device can
be read by your bios at boot?
