No single way. I don't often need to. Depending on what, if anything, is
bootable, often the simplest is a DOS boot floppy, from which: 'FDISK /MBR'.
Some, maybe most, Linux GUI disk management tools can do it, such as YaST2.
It's also possible using FDISK or LVM on a windoz or OS/2 boot. Likely
several tools on an UltimateBootCD can do it. Probably most often I use the
NEWMBR facility built into the multi-platform executable, non-free
partitioner I use, DFSee.
