Details:

UEFI grub2 1.99-rc2 with UEFI (a thinkpad w520 with 16GB memory, UEFI fireware
2.0)

I added UEFI shell (from
http://tianocore.git.sourceforge.net/git/gitweb.cgi?p=tianocore/edk2;a=blob_plain;f=EdkShellBinPkg/FullShell/X64/Shell_Full.efi;hb=HEAD
) to grub.conf (see the last menu entry in the attached grub.conf file)

How to reproduce:
Boot into grub (grub is my default /EFI/Boot/bootx64.efi)
Select the "UEFI Shell" option
after UEFI shell loads, exit it
in grub menu, select "UEFI Shell" option again
this time, UEFI shell does not start, instead I see the following:

/EndEntire
file path
/ACPI(a0341d0,0)/PCI(2,1f)/UnknownMessaging(12)/HD(1,800,64000,4e50fdc69bd3204c,ab,79)/File(\EFI)/File(shellx64.efi)
/EndEntire
alloc magic is broken at 0x5b398700

after turning on debug=all, this is what I get after repeating the above:

fs/fat.c:429: fat_size=32, next_cluster=9974
... (25 more lines like the above)
kern/disk.c:330: Closing 'hd1'.
script/lexer.c:307: token 259 text [
]
script/script.c:50: malloc 0x46b76020
script/script.c:50: malloc 0x493b3f80
script/lexer.c:307: token 0 text []
script/script.c:50: malloc 0x46f9e000
script/script.c:50: malloc 0x45fa2a20
alloc magic is broken at 0x46362e00
Aborted. Press any key to exit.

this "alloc magic is broken" error has happened to me numerous times (mostly
after I edited a menu entry, and try to boot the modified one with F10), but
this is the only one I can consistently reproduce

let me know if you need more info
