Details:

grub seems to [start to] download the module several times and probably gets
confused by itself resulting in a "error: premature end of file
/.../boot_archive". Also it is damn slow (~ the same speed as with tftp, i.e.
~ 1.75 vs. 1.5 MiB/s via 1 Gbps link) - gPXE http is ~ 5+-1x faster ...
