[bug-gtypist] Are double spaces after periods still relevant?

Hello,

as a long-time fan of GTypist, I would like to know whether double spaces after
a period/question mark are still relevant. I do not think anybody uses them in
official electronic correspondence, yet GTypist still teaches those in its
lessons.

Aren't they a relic of the typewriter age?
