I have noticed that I repeatedly reach the exact same raw speeds on
a number of drills... stuff like.. 111.43 wpm, 96.80 wpm, 150.00 wpm..
etc. I had suspected this for some time but now I can ask gtypist to
keep track of my personal best... I know for sure.
There have been times when I went against my personal best for a given
drill and ended up typing at exactly the same speed 3-4 times in a row.
Common sense tells me that it is unlikely that I should be able to type
the same drills at exactly the same speed when measured with that level
of precision.. even if I tried.
Anyway, the trouble here is that once you have a feeling that something
is not quite right you start doubting the figures entirely: if you feel
there could be something wrong with the .43 bit in the 111.43 example
for instance... why should you trust the 111 part either? For all I know
I might be typing at 80.99 wpm.
And then maybe it's just me.. Perhaps I'm a robot and my mum forgot to
tell me..
It would be rather silly sending in a bug report on a hunch but perhaps
someone familiar with the code could take a quick look...?
Thanks,
CJ
