If I start python3 and do:

$ python3
Python 3.4.3 (default, Oct  9 2015, 22:53:58)
[GCC 4.9.3] on linux
Type "help", "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information.
>>> import tkinter
>>> root = tkinter.Tk()
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module>
line 1851, in __init__
    self.tk = _tkinter.create(screenName, baseName, className,
interactive, wantobjects, useTk, sync, use)
_tkinter.TclError: Can't find a usable tk.tcl in the following directories:

This probably means that tk wasn't installed properly.

Did you successfully test it?
