The kernel panic problem etc could actually be related to the core dumping.
Ehm. It's a bit strange I got a core dump as I did configure the crash
server with --suspend (first run) and --kill second run.
Neal reported problems with core dumps, too. The core dump code definitely
provokes kernel crashes.
This still leaves the question of the initial segfault of course.
